Phase II at MCS remains on budget and on time. The MCS generator is scheduled for installation tomorrow, while the MA generator servicing is set for August 1st. The Instructional Committee met on 6/1/26 with Angel Littlefield, Heidi Kremser, and Eric Bernow present. They decided to move to a competency-based report card for elementary students, starting in the 27-28 school year. Staff will work this summer and the next academic year to develop the system and integrate it into the new Alma student information system. An informational campaign for parents is scheduled for fall/winter 2026-27. Regarding Title I, the committee resolved to align the program with math to meet compliance requirements and complete the NHED Title I plan with updates. They plan to hire a Title I Coordinator for mathematics. For the upcoming School Board retreat on 6/11, the committee will prepare a handout covering updates on the AI Committee, the Curriculum Cycle, and a draft of professional development for the 26-27 school year.

The Instructional Committee met on 12/4/25 regarding curriculum updates. A pilot of the Xello career and college tool will launch in 9th grade English and 6th grade homerooms. Members will set up accounts, explore the platform, and open the family portal. MCS Math interventionist roles are being re-assigned based on student needs. Meredith Brown requested approval for two new Social Studies courses for freshmen starting with the class of 2030: "New Hampshire: Land, People, and Identity" and "Principles of Business." Full proposals with options for updating the Program of Studies, including embedded credits to avoid hiring new staff, are set for the January School Board meeting for approval. Christina Touhey proposed transitioning HS Math from printed workbooks to digital resources including IM and Open Stacks, also seeking approval in January.

The Moultonborough School District Instructional Committee met on 11/4/25 with Angel Littlefield, Heidi Kremser, and Eric Bernow present. Regarding the HS Math Curriculum, the committee reviewed Khan Academy, scoring 43.75/50, and IM, scoring 40.75/50. The Math Steering Committee will use NHED's Data Studio to track achievement. Next steps include completing a review with the math department, presenting to the School Board, and a potential curriculum pilot in spring 2026. For the HS Program of Studies, the committee discussed alignment with new state minimum standards (ED306) for Year of Graduation 2030, HS graduation requirements, and proposals for Social Studies and English—which includes a required Logic & Rhetoric/Writing course for grade 11. The committee will update the program of studies for 26-27 with new requirements and update policy IKF. For the Dyslexia Screener, the committee will continue K-3 screenings and update the screener.
