The NASB BOE approved August 24, 2026 public meeting minutes and today's non-public minutes. SPEAKER_13 reported the district has a better cash position with all towns paid up, noting the general fund contains approximately $681,000 in unspent budgeted funds. The hospitality tax was extended.
The Board appointed Hannah Carr as the Newfound Memorial Middle School computer education teacher and accepted the resignation of Aaron Edwards, the Middle School computer teacher. They approved a tutor position job description to help address a lack of special education case managers.
A motion passed to send the district dress code policy to the policy committee for review. The Board voted to form a superintendent search committee to find a full-time replacement for the interim leader. The next meeting is scheduled for November 5, 2026.

The NASB BOE met to address failed warrant articles. The DRA confirmed three articles did not pass; the operating budget defaulted to $184,000 below the tax cap. Warrant Article 5 (teachers' union contract) and Article 8 (HVAC/boilers) failed because they exceeded the cap and lacked the required 60% supermajority. A motion to enter negotiations with the union passed. The board voted to nominate Melissa and Michelle as negotiators. Administrators froze new hiring and spending to rebudget under the default cap. Teachers will revert to FY26 contract rates ("status quo") pending FY27 negotiations. No special meeting or revote will occur. The board aims to renegotiate for the coming year while restructuring the budget.

The NASB Board held a special meeting to address Article 1, which sought to legalize and ratify actions from the January 31st and March 10th, 2026 annual meetings under RSA 315B and RSA 4016. Superintendent Paul Bory explained the meeting corrected procedural defects: failure to file the MS27, MSDSB, and warrant in the DRRA portal by the deadline, and the budget committee failing to vote to approve the budget. The measure does not alter budget dollar amounts. Motion to close debate by Sarah, seconded by Siobhan, passed by voice vote. Warrant Article 1 was subsequently adopted by voice vote to affirm prior actions and allow the corrected forms to be uploaded to the DRA portal as documented evidence. The meeting adjourned.
