SPEAKER_1 called the Ashland Planning Board meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. on September 17, 2026. Members approved minutes from the August 20th and July 16th meetings with minor corrections, voting unanimously. Trisha Ferris was appointed to the School Long Range Planning Committee. The board did not open public hearings on the historical society chapter or Chapter Eight. A subcommittee was formed to meet with the Ashland Historical Society on Monday, September 28th at 5:30 p.m. to revise documents. The board advised a property owner on Love Hill regarding setback requirements within the Squam Lake and Squam River Old District: 50 feet from the lake, 35 feet from the street, and 25 feet from the sides. The Ashland Economic Development Committee approved amended minutes regarding opportunity zone language, clarifying that designation allows developers to receive federal capital gains tax exemptions rather than state funds. The committee reviewed project tracking spreadsheets, assigning leads: SPEAKER_18 (Steve) for opportunity zone and lakes region planning, SPEAKER_23 (Jenny) for mixed-use regulations and nonprofits, SPEAKER_12 (Laurie) for master plan rules and underutilized properties, and SPEAKER_9 (Fran) for the library project. John will research impact fees. The planning board will hold a Chapter 8 public hearing tomorrow at 6:30 PM. The committee will vote on finalized rules and procedures and review individual project tracking templates at the next meeting. SPEAKER_9 will chair the October 5th meeting.

The Plymouth Regional High School field hockey team defeated John Stark 3-0 in their September 15, 2026 game. Plymouth scored first when Harper Hesser netted a goal with 56 seconds remaining in the first quarter. Hesser added her second goal mid-second quarter during a penalty corner play, with the assist coming from Joyce after McKenna's initial shot was saved. Payton Moore scored Plymouth's final insurance goal with 2:09 left in the fourth quarter. The win improves Plymouth's record to 5-0-1, placing them second in NHIAA Division 2 standings, two points behind Bow. John Stark's record fell to 3-4. Plymouth converted 1 of 3 penalty corners in the first half. Carmen Donis recorded several saves in goal for Plymouth. The next scheduled game for Plymouth is against St. Thomas at home on Friday.

The Plymouth Elementary School Board approved the August 10, 2026 minutes. The board approved the updated bullying prevention policy, which now requires meetings with perpetrators and links failure to report to potential certification loss. The board approved the non-enrolled students policy, allowing homeschooled and Education Freedom Account students to attend up to 50% of the time without charge. The board awarded a three-year snowplow contract to Piper for $37,620, contingent on Rumney and Plymouth High School participation. The board signed the end-of-year financial report, which showed an FY26 retained fund balance of $379,482 and capital reserve funds of $121,863 as of June 30, 2026.

The Board agreed to lock the tennis courts due to safety hazards caused by damage from motorized bikes and plan to convert one court to include pickleball lines during spring repairs.
