It's a division 2 showdown in Plymouth,
New Hampshire. The early season race is
beginning to take shape and this
afternoon, the Plymouth Bobcats put
their unbeaten start on the line against
the John Star Generals. Plymouth enters
today 40 and one and sit second in the
NHIAA Division 2 standings. The Bobcats
have made an early statement, organized,
aggressive, and difficult to break down.
Every point matters in a competitive
division race and Plymouth has its sight
set on staying near the top of the
division. But standing in their way is
their John Stark Generals opponent. Team
comes in three and three looking for a
signature road win. The Generals know
that a victory here could change the
direction of their season and they will
be ready to test one of the division's
top teams from the opening whistle. For
Plymouth, it's about setting the tone
early, controlling possession, creating
pressure inside the circle, and making
the most of their home field advantage.
For John Stark, it's about matching that
intensity, staying composed, and taking
advantage of their counterattack
opportunities every chance they get. Two
teams, one important division 2 matchup
in a field hockey game that is set for a
60-minute battle. Good afternoon
everyone. Welcome to Pammy Baker TV's
coverage of NHIAA Division 2 Field
Hockey. I'm Dan Salszer flying solo on
the call today as the Plymouth Bobcats
get set to take on the John Stark
Generals. The teams are in position. The
officials are ready to go. And we are
just about set for the opening center
pass here from Plymouth, New Hampshire.

Carmen Donis, the senior goalkeeper for
Plymouth
at the bottom of your screen.
So we look at things. Plymouth struggled
a little bit in their game here at home
in that tie against Hollis Brookline on
Friday afternoon. Gave up a goal in the
opening seconds of that game. Battled
back a couple of minutes later and then
um with some tough officiating on both
sides of the ball for both teams. Kind
of a stalemate the rest of the way all
through overtime. So Plymouth talking
with head coach Ashley Laughenberg
before the game. You know, got to get
out early. Got to understand the
situation. Plymouth knows where they
are. They're sitting second, two points
behind Bo, who are 5-0 entering this
week's play. Plymouth 40 and1 as we
mentioned at the top of our broadcast.
They've got to come out with speed.
They're going to look to try to dump
Chase, use their speed advantage against
the Generals. And the first time
Plymouth has seen Jon Stark since their
opening season loss last season. and
that two-1 loss for Plymouth.

trying to iterate, cannot come out flat.
They have to come out aggressive and use
that throughout the game as this long
pass misses the mark. Duchett

Back and forth battle, but you guys had
some flashes of brilliance in the
circle. What are your biggest takeaways
from the win here this afternoon?
>> Uh, I liked how we were able to come out
firing in those first couple quarters
there. um to score, you know, first is
big and then to keep it going there and
uh to hold that two nothing lead for
most of the game was important for us.
Uh I liked how when John Stark turned on
there in the second half, you know, we
didn't let it get to us, we stayed we
stayed solid on defense and made it back
onto the offensive side and I just said
to the girls in that fourth quarter just
hey, you know, finish with another one
like finish that you can still put an
exclamation point into it and not be
comfortable with just the two. when we
calculated one for three on the penalty
corner. Happy with your special teams
play so far in the early part of the
season?
>> Yeah, I think you know on the whole you
know the defense is solid. Uh yeah, we
got the corners. I mean calls were kind
of going back and forth all day, but it
was just important to say that we can
shut it down. Uh I would have loved to
have seen more offensive corner
opportunities, but just the fact that we
put the pressure on and executed when we
had those chances was um huge for us
because we hadn't done that in previous
games. So
>> senior leadership showing all over the
field. Donna stellar in goal, making
some terrific saves when Jon Stark was
able to break through. Where has this
senior team really changed in the last
few games and how has that affected the
rest of your team?
>> Yeah, I mean it it definitely starts
back there with Donis. I mean, she
especially made that big save. Um she
stacked her leg just right cuz J Stark
made a nice little lift and she just
happened to be right in the right spot
for it. And uh you know, like I said,
I've had girls on each line that are
senior leaders and whether or not
they're a captain or whatever, they're
each stepping up and showing what
they're capable of. And you know, as the
younger girls get filtered in, they're
working with them. They're talking with
them. And so that's just great because
then it's less coaching on our end and
they're working together more and uh
trying to keep that fluid connection
throughout.
>> Harper Hasser, terrific day looking at
the score, not Payton. She gets the
hattick. How has she really controlled
the offense and and what does she bring
to the table day in and day out?
>> Yeah, so she's got a little bit of a
spunk there on that sideline and it's
been great. She makes good transitional
ball play. uh she takes advantage of
those shots that she gets on goal and I
mean that could have gone either way.
You know I was thinking from my side
even I thought it might have been Payton
or Laya. Um but again I've got girls
that are hungry to score across the
board and Harper has just been a
catalyst too for all of that. So uh
kudos to her for the hattick and just
kudos to the team too for getting her
feeding her that ball to get it up there
and uh John Stark I guess just didn't
have an answer for her.
>> Looking at things hitting the heart of
your schedule heading towards the
midpoint of the season. Can't believe
that already. 50 and one 0 0 and1.
You've got St. Thomas coming up here at
home on Friday. What is the next big
thing? What is the next big piece
missing of the puzzle as you head into
some quote unquote tougher competition
in the heart of your schedule?
>> Yeah, I mean St. Thomas is somebody
that's moved up into our division. Uh
they are a turf team coming here. So,
you know, we always kind of factor that
in in terms of what to expect from these
teams because, you know, John Stark's
got a lot of girls that are playing
indoor and things like that. And these
girls have good sticks together across
the board. And when we face these
tougher teams, we know that they've
played a lot together. So there's just a
lot of fluid ball movement and uh as you
said, they're going to put pressure on
us and they know like, hey, we're going
to look for like the Harper Hessers and
we're going to look for taking shots on
donuts um to make it, you know, a really
tight game. And so I'd love to just see
our girls go out there to compete. The
girls know where they are in the
standings and it's it's great to be
there, but I think we walk away each
game just giving ourselves a pat on the
back and saying, "Okay, well now what do
we work on? like what how can we just
keep getting better and more prepared
for those tougher games ahead and you
know in the end it just gets us ready
for playoffs. So hopefully as we face
them we you know can learn from it and
gain that experience going on down the
