The Selectboard approved prior meeting minutes 3-0. Selectmen designated Keith Nason and/or Jason Powers as liaisons for the Town of Bennington’s BRIC 24 grant Letter of Intent. Regarding the Town Report, Selectmen instructed the Town Administrator to make a minor change. The Town Administrator updated the board on the Primex insurance claim for the Sawyer Park stage; Primex will send a check for $11,627.21, less the $1,000 deductible. An additional depreciation amount will be paid upon completion of the stage rebuild and receipt submission, bringing the total claim payout to $14,236.82. Chairman Cleary signed the commitment with Plodzik & Sanderson for 2024 Auditing Services. The meeting adjourned at 6:00 pm for the Deliberative Session.

The Selectboard approved August 31, 2026 minutes and Financial A/P & Payroll Manifests. Signatures were authorized for Building Permit Map 8-1-1 and reimbursement requests from the TTF. Regarding Bible Hill Road Map 10 Lot 61, SPEAKER_2 suggested hiring a private company for cleanup rather than using town equipment on private property to remove a rotting tree, tires, and a camper. For Map 12 Lots 13 & 14, the board set a sale date to facilitate proper advertising. The board discussed the 2027 Budget meeting schedule. SPEAKER_2 provided a bat update, noting a price quote from Balcom Brothers for a lift and an update from JP Pest. Present were Chairman James Cleary, Tony Parisi, Travis McClure, and Catherine McGillicuddy.

Chairman James Cleary, Tony Parisi, and Travis McClure approved paying Fire Station mini-split repairs from the Town Building Expendable Trust Fund. Chief Zack Andersen reported $6,000 in budgeted Fire Truck tool purchases. The Board motioned 3-0 to invest in a Conservation Commission CD at 3.5% for six months, effective August 25, 2026. Selectmen declined Richard and Mary Baksa-Mathews' $16,960 offer for Map 12 Lots 13 & 14, opting for public bids instead. A new hire was unanimously approved to replace Tom James at the Transfer Station. Budget discussions resulted in a vote for Selectman Parisi to discuss crossing guard schedules with Chief Horne and invite him to the August 31, 2026 meeting. Selectmen also tabled deciding on potential truck restrictions for Bible Hill Rd. and will obtain quotes from Steve Frosch and Norm Shepherd for rain and ice diverters. The next meeting is August 31, 2026.

The Selectboard met with Selectmen Parisi and McClure present; Chairman Cleary absent. June 29, 2026 minutes were accepted. Kyle Murray’s gazebo facilities use agreement was approved with stipulations. Selectmen approved a $2,370.00 quote for a 4-Bay NAS 8 TB storage backup system, split between Police, Executive, and Town Clerk to address cyber-attack risks. Chief Horne and Sergeant Bell discussed police matters, including non-criminal truck turn-around issues at Alberto’s lot. Recent beach vandalism will prompt increased police patrols. Rain diverters for the Fire Station and Town Hall, plus a Town Hall ice diverter, were tabled. A/P & Payroll manifests were signed. The meeting adjourned at 6:53 pm. The next meeting is scheduled for August 24, 2026 at 6:00 pm.

The Bennington Board of Selectmen met July 13, 2026 minutes. AP and Payroll manifests and CRF reimbursements were reviewed and signed. An abatement request for Map 2 Lot 6 was denied. The board discussed maintenance issues regarding rain diverters at the Fire Station and Town Hall, and an ice diverter at Town Hall. A certified letter will be sent to a Bible Hill Rd. resident regarding compliance with health and safety regulations. Selectmen noted Whittemore Lake beach maintenance was completed and the area is in good condition. The meeting adjourned at 6:15 pm. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 10, 2026 at 6:00 pm.
