Bernie discussed Ready Rides, “Fix-It” events, a grant opportunity involving the Inn at Deerfield, and Pollinator Gardens along Gazebo Trail. Debbie gave an update on AMOB. The group scheduled the next full informational meeting for October 27, with the Candidates’ Forum to follow on October 28.

Greg McHugh discussed closing the site and pulling the dock, directing a call to Clevus to schedule closure and system shutdown, alongside designing a cranked spool mechanism. The Deerfield NH Heritage Commission met September 15, 2026. Members unanimously voted to accept the July 28, 2026 meeting minutes and the finance report presented by Andrew Merrill. Dawn Messina's resignation from the Commission was noted. Members discussed the upcoming Appreciation of Town Hall event scheduled for November 18, featuring former State Architectural Historian James Garvin, including Historical Society participation regarding a quilt. The Board of Trustees approved the agenda and minutes from the August 10, 2026 meeting. Consent agenda approvals included the Library Director’s and Treasurer’s reports. During old business, trustees discussed ALA Round 4 grant updates, the Capital Improvement Plan with impact fees, and FY27 budget planning. The Town Budget Meeting is scheduled for September 21.
Under new business, the Board addressed a Trustee Vacancy by nominating a candidate for appointment. They reviewed library hours, job descriptions for an open position, and the draft community survey for strategic planning. The Board entered non-public session pursuant to RSA 91-A:3, II (c) before adjournment. The next meeting is set for Monday, October 12, 2026, at 7:00 PM.

The Deerfield Board approved highway winter plow contracts and rates, allowing road agent-approved non-employees on loaders but banning them from trucks, with updated 6-wheeled spreader rates. They approved $18,405 from the expendable trust for truck equipment and accepted up to $45,000 in grant funds for water remediation. The Board declined Parks and Rec's requested salary increase, approving a total 2027 budget of $96,389. They approved the 2027 Executive budget of $18,360 but tabled the Gov Buildings and Transfer Station budgets for further review. A $162 motor vehicle refund was approved, and $110,541.05 in payroll and $29,132.19 in accounts payable were authorized. The GBW boiler repair quote will be sought from AJ LeBlanc, and the Chair signed the R&D Paving contract. The next meeting is September 21, 2026.
