We have had, I'm going to submit my report as written.
We have about 280 students.
The break time is in the list for you, so you can see how many students we have in each grade and where they all are.
We would like to welcome Jamie Pavano as our new school secretary,
Kristen Moot, and Morgan Kingsbury, to our math department.
who are in math department in grade 7 and 8 respectively.
Josh Pershaw into the special education department.
Christine Baker is our new reading specialist.
Emma Adams, Emily Webster, as new RVTs,
and Lisa Davis and Adam Vivian as new PM custodians.
We're also welcoming Tracy Cyril to IRS
as she transitions over from EBS to join our fifth grade team.
Again, and in fact, we had a really great re-entry into the building.
Fifth grade students.
students get clapped in as they come in and clap the eight-graders out as they leave in the act.
So kind of a nice little in and out.
Ms. Isabel was there to give our students kind of a nice introduction and expectations.
We took our first opening ceremony.
And Dave Bailey, our new assistant principal, and I were able to really kind of have that conversation with students
about what expectations are in the middle school and what that looks like.
So overall, it's been a great start to be here.
And we're looking forward to meeting the goals of the multi-level this year.

Guidance has still been working through some students' schedule changes.
The deadline for several changes is Friday of this week.
We welcome a number of new staff.

them all. We do a free open position still. I need a part-time French teacher, part-time computer science,
and a special education case manager. We'd be looking at, you know, some kind of modification if that does take place.
Opening week went very well. At first day, we have traditional hospitals in the field.
Seniors get something extra. So we always have a great time people gather on the field.
And homecoming planning is well underway. September 25th is the bonfire.
fire and in grade 26 is all the sporting events as well as we have the day up that evening.
And then we still will continue this year with New Hampshire faculty hunger and I think Carter's got to mention it as well where our athletes go to the other schools and it's just really great.
Our athletes look forward to it. I know other buildings look forward to that as well.

Hello, everybody.
So our current enrollment is at 241 students.
I've been getting into the whole routine of being back
in the elementary school.
I kind of got the bug already from being back
in the kindergarten classrooms and dealing
with all that fun stuff.
But I really enjoy coming back into the elementary school level, and the energy in the building has been fantastic.
And the kids have done an awesome job so far.
We already have welcomed some new staff, Emily Tracy as a kindergarten teacher, McKenzie Kellogg as a second grade teacher.
We had some internal shifting, Meredith Melendi, transitioned into a, from a paraprofessional to a case manager.
And Christy Marshall has moved into the new lead arc teacher role since House and Freakos
now our BCBA. And we were able to get a new nurse named Danny Faria and added some new paraprofessional staff, Ryan Thibito, and Lisa Martin.
And Jim O'Mara has joined our CS dystodial shift for the evening.
And also, we were able to have our welcome back assembly last week.
So I was really good to allow to introduce myself to the students.
And I was already talking to trying to figure out, trying to get to kids' names.
kids, names, and it's going to take a little bit of time a lot, hey buddy, hey pal.
But I'll do like us to get to know them.
But it was a great way to set the expectations to CES way,
review our expectations for the hallway, and it was just a really nice little way
to end the week last week. So all as well at CES, and yeah, I'd really
enjoyed the first week or so.

And my numbers look a little different.
The camera numbers, but I explained it.
We have 183 students enrolled every day,
but we have two students that are homeschooled in kindergarten
that are joining us for part of the day.
So they are in the system that enrolled in the school,
but they're not there most of the time.
And we also have a preschool.
school student that comes in just for services.
She gets speech and language support and some
operational therapy support, but she's typically at each effective.
So that's why the numbers were a little different.
We also welcome the number of new staff this year.
Melanie Brown has taken the administrative assistant
position in the main office,
which left in opening in our special clerk position.
So Catherine Edson, one of our long time parreras,
took that role.
And so that meant that we added a few people throughout.
And they're in the list there.
I want to shout out to our Crystal Wheel team.
They just did a phenomenal job.
And later in there, you've noticed that I had a visit
from Senator Maggie Hassan and her team on multiple occasions
in different places throughout the building,
just that the building was beautiful, it's clean,
the floor looked great, I can't believe you have a real gym floor,
that's so amazing.
And so that was that was really cool.
It was nice to fur shelf enough for that because it worked really hard.
And then we had our annual walk with a cop,
which is going to talk about.
about 150 participants this year, which is kind of cool.
And then, of course, we hosted Senator Hassan last week.
She was at the school for about 45 minutes to an hour.
She read to a kindergarten class.
The book is called Strictly No Elephants,
which is about inclusion and being claims, basically.
And then we had two student ambassadors that escorted her
through the building and talked with her about lots of different things.
And then she went into every classroom.
She answered questions at every grade level,
even the ones that are completely off the rails.
She managed students very, very well,
and she spoke very highly of our focus on early literacy
and the support that we've given kids.
So it was pretty cool.
Awesome, very cool.
Questions were changing.
45 minutes is a long time for a senator.
So that's awesome.
Like, that's a long time.
And there was a room, a classroom that we were like,
oh, we don't need to do when they're at three school,
there's only a couple kids.
Like we can just grease by.
And her team was like, it's time to go, time ago.
And she went right in anyway.

by chance, I ran into a bus driver and had to be down my way, because I came out and voted.

The high school, high school students have the ones having the issues.

Remember how we said you're going to put
kids together with everybody, you know, high school, the middle school and all this other stuff.
Well, the only issues I got told today was he lost a guy.
This is an M9 move.
So I talked to him and came up and voted.
I just went over to asking like, how things are going?
He's got issues with kids on the bus eating so he's going to deal with him.
He had a high school student they had last year that took care of his bus.
You know, made sure the kids were overseeing.
But he graduated.
All right?
So he can't, he can't, he can't, he was told, he can't assign seats to these problem kids.
And I said to him, not to get into this, I said, but where's your issues coming from?
And he says, mainly in middle school kids.
I said, I didn't have an aide, you know, on the bus when he sit on seat.
But as soon as I tried to assign seats before he did the aid, he said,
that he got overridden by that, by his supervisor, I guess, what he told today.
So the issue is not, like, I mentioned to him, I said, because my idea was,
you did a couple of high school students who are on there, they can, you know, pick the ones
that are good ones, and tell him, hey, you were one of those little guys a long time ago.
He told me today that the issues he had, and they got on tape, so I didn't go any fat on that,
I just left alone.
I said, it's not a high school situation.
It's not a high school situation.
kids problems and he said no middle school and he said I'll deal with the tomorrow
he said I'll deal with the food problem because if they're not he said I'll let me
as long as they as they clean make sure the place is not cleaned up and they're not
throwing stuff so from what I gathered today this afternoon was your
issues are in the middle school with the kids on the bus it's not coming from high
school it's coming it's getting picked on the little ones are getting
picked on so it's coming from the middle school so unfortunately I don't want to
be along with bad news but I'm trying to help you out with you know I thought
maybe two high school students and I mentioned that to him I said and he took
and I said to him the previous board chairman who used to be the best driver was
not around anymore she assigned seats she got away with so I thought they were
were allowed his own seats I don't know I'm sure that followed the follow
I just want to let you know so you're not leap in here and then here and a
a half of it all right so that's my yeah so get those things worked out and get
those kids all right up next we got first day enrollment update Amanda was
there anything else besides what everyone just shared with us I know I saw our
full enrollment update for everything yeah you do see that remember these are not the
numbers that will go to the state those are the October 1st numbers they will not include
the home school student that Janie has so the numbers will look more
accurate and I would not be surprised if the numbers get down a little bit
from what you see here typically our first-day enrollment numbers are higher
than the October 1st numbers which is unfortunate yep all right any
questions on that for a minute all right up next we got field trips so who would like to go first
field trips? So the field trips for you. So the fifth grade has two
scheduled purpose arts ending in history looking at Northern Stage and
Fort number four. That was a big success last year. They go in December to Northern
Stage and in May to Fort number four. And then the sixth grade is not on this list.
We talked about this last year they do an experience where they come roots comes to the school.
And so we do that experience of survival and that kind of thing at the school.
The 7th and 8th grade field trips focus on science and 7th grade is looking at vins,
and that would be in June. The 8th grade is looking at the C Science Center in Manchester,
and that would be again in June. And then there are two music field trips that we take.
The Trills and Throws Festival, that's at Canady
Lake Park. The students go ahead before him and they're adjudicated. Last year, they did
really, really well. We were very proud of the work that they did. And then they do that in
June. And then in December, they go to the Canaan Senior Center and do some Christmas
caroling and that kind of thing. The only thing on here was just to check that the VINZ is out of
state, but that's not. I'm sorry.

space to see them see if they can find but we'll certainly look into that a little more

So the high school field trip list is always work.
We really do feel it's important to get our students out.
There's all kinds of opportunities.
So we have college visits, art visits, biology trips, the Indian course trips,
community nutrition picks it out to the grocery store and a hard stands,
Cardigan Mountain, which is always a great place.
always a great hike.
I did that with this last year.
Getting over using our mountain bikes, Boston
Prairium, Alice Shoals, Mr. Wolf has an opportunity
and connections with Dartmouth College.
And then there's a series of theater production,
theater that are going to take place.
And we have a whole group, they gave us all these free tickets
like for like four performances.
So that's on there.
Our New York City trip.
In the spring time, which we've already approved.
We head to Washington, D.C. next month.
A couple of student council treats and gatherings.

So before I get started, I did make mistakes.
Swan Lake is not out of sea, so I didn't.

So kindergarten, they have two trips playing,
one, 11 in Opera House,
sometime in this spring.
and then Cedar Circle Fire.
There's going to be some pumpkin activities
that they're going to be doing later next month.
First grade will be going to Buildings Farms,
second grade, Swam Lake, Science Center,
third grade, Vince, and then fourth grade has their typical
in the I'm sure State House strip, which is usually in the spring,
but it's going to be in October this year,
as well as there's Shaker Museum,
and then the Dartmouth College Women's Basketball game,
which I know is always a fun time.
And also there's a very
a new trip that we're kind of proposing here with the fourth grade that
Jamie will talk a little bit more on because that kind of was planning done without
me last year. So she has a little bit all for it because I went with the
Avery before but she has a little bit more information on that.
So this is going to be a joint.
Yeah, so it'll be a joint because for EDS and CDS and
Jamie and have a woke show and her out all together.
And then we got the Blankets Theater for anything here.

Kind of garden growth to Squam Lake.
First grade goes to Williams Farm.
Second grade goes to the Monshire.
Third grade also goes to Swan Lake.
Last year we worked it up.
They went on the same day and did their own thing and it worked out beautifully.
It was great.
And then the Shaker Museum and the State House.
We are going, we have planning to the State House in October because
because we would like to do this Boston trip in the spring.
And I have on here Dartmouth Basketball Education Day for fourth grade,
but they just reached out with a Dartmouth Hockey,
Women's Hockey Educational Day, which happens later in October.
And the fourth grade team is proposing that they go to that instead of the four days before Christmas break.
Yeah.
So we're going to try that and see.
We'll see how it goes.

Yeah, and they had reached out and asked if we would go to both and I said that's a lot.
We probably can't do that, but we would likely, you know, share that a little bit and try and do a little bit.
So Boston, we, they spend a lot of time talking about the tea party and doing the Freedom Trail
and lots of conversation and the new letter to program really, really just dies into all of that with their new stuff.

And so the fourth grade team is proposing that we allow them to do an all-day trip in this spring,
where we would actually rent coach buses as well.
So we're going to start doing fundraising and all of that, so that we don't have to stop
and use public restrooms because we know what they should do if we had to do that on the way down.
But they have a proposal to potentially go to the Tea Party Museum.
They want to go to, they want to do the Freedom Trail, they want to potentially do the Freedom Trail, they want to potentially do
a duck boat tour.
And so some of the way the numbers work, they can't, we can't all be at all of the things
at the same time.
So they'll be parks, they'll be able to do together, and then we'll do EBS would do one thing,
then CES would do the other, and then in the afternoon we would swap for that.
And so they're guessing it's probably going to cost us about $10,000 or $12,000 for both schools.
But they have already started to reach out to various organizations,
they have a number of grants and opportunities that they're looking at trying to receive,
as well as potentially both schools doing the double-big popcorn fundraiser.
I know that I visited the BBS last year and we made like a $26 or $700, I think, in four days.
Wow.
So if we both did something with that, then I was a good chunk of that of that money.
So we're also proposing, I think that EBS could staff this with employees,
because we have a few parents of fourth graders that I could then transfer,
you know, adjust the schedules for the students that are staying behind and take just employees.
We also proposed that if we felt like there wasn't a need for shop downs of any kind outside of that,
that we would have an expectation that they would participate in things to help
prepare for the trip throughout the school year,
instead of just at 10 April saying,
oh, here's my volunteer form, I want to go to Boston.
So we've, they thought through all of that
and how we're going to tie it to their curriculum.
So that's what we're hoping.
We'd like to take both schools at the same time.
Like Ryan said, you probably would both go and be an administrator
because that would be that first time we would take that age group out of state
on this kind of level of out of state,
so we would want to make sure we were available in case something came up.
I have an idea.
I've always thought about this.
So what about doing like a run on the rail trail?
Because it's like right, and it's so safe, it's right near the schools,
and that's a great fundraiser.
I feel like that would be,
and I don't feel like it would be really difficult to organize
because it's not on a road.
Yeah, no, that's a great idea.
And I think they'll be looking, if we get it approved,
I think they would be looking to start having organizational might
to get people involved really quickly,
because we know that dates and times will start that pull up.
But also thinking about how,
and we've talked a lot about how important it is
for us to really celebrate work graders
and getting ready to move on
and what a cool, like, extra stuff this would be for them.

Can I say one more thing too?
So one thing that I, I'm a runner,
and I always look for, like, turkey trots,
and there aren't that many regionally, too.
So, like, you know, people register,
it'll be like $25 or something.
$25 or something or like $30 and they get a t-shirt.
So it's definitely something that, like, I feel like in our area,
we could get tons of people to, like, sign up for.

And I've been here every day school so far, so I don't think I'll be missing anything.

A couple lots going on.
For scores, that's the big one.
Today, hill hockey won their own game.
Okay.
And I believe boys soccer won their game today.
So that's very nice.
Today, we had a scene safety driving program come.
That was probably
probably the most interesting thing.
It wasn't bad at all.
I think that was an incredible experience.
I mean, I was sitting next to some kids who just can't pay attention in class
and they have never had wider eyes in the more focused at the front.
It was very good.
They catching the attention to everybody and everybody did their best participate.
Very exciting.

The different scores here.
The different sports teams will be going to EBS, CS, IRS, and those other states from the
21st to the 25th to collect food donations for the New Hampshire tackles under Food Drive.
The football team, when it's there are, I believe they're going to be splitting up because
how many people there are, and the different sports teams will just be doing their best to collect food.
It seems very nice.
The Intrax Club is also part of course.
also participating in the New Hampshire Tacklesonger Program.
In the 26th, the air contact between drives, so after all the sports teams have had their turn.
The NHS students will be getting told if they have been accepted into the club or not.
On the 25th today, I said essays, that's an error, should be application papers
and just basic paperwork that confirms.
that it confirms that the students are ready for NHS.
They were supposed to have been posted.
The essays for the students will be due on B-16.
And student council, this year, the first meeting of the executive council
will be next Monday.
The main council has met yesterday, but obviously,
at school ball, because of labor day and all that.
And this year, the student council plans on continuing to make
to make assemblies and other events that they help run exciting for students
to enjoy things and understand what's being said instead of, you know,
toying around with their friends.
Besides, after as much of the fair, their auditions of Athens,
and all the people have been chosen, they are having trouble with numbers
because of how many seniors were participants in place last year.
So hopefully,
with the musical.
They can get the amount of students they eat.
And for the other schools, the only thing I'd like to comment on is EBS as I grew up there.
And it's good to see that the walk for the cop event is still going on and still very strong.
150 kids.
I think that's more than when I park is still a little kid.
That's a lot of people.
And it's cool that Maggie Hasson lives in the school.
It seems like EBS and all of the schools have kind of gone up in quality of ed,
education and facilities as I've been here, and it's nice to see.

So we met last Thursday.
It was kind of a, there wasn't a lot to report yet, put it that way, because it was last
because it was last Thursday, so there's not been a lot to report.
Some really helpful things that did come through.
Todd Thompson from the Enfield, Harks and Rec, coordinator.
He came and he actually did a really nice report because he organizes all of, like,
the younger sports and gave some numbers of what crops of
students looks like coming through for various sports, because we do have some
have some that are kind of struggling to put together a whole team, keep everybody on the field if we've got injuries.
There's some challenges, specifically like soccer, girls field hockey.
There's some areas, but it does look like the numbers are strong coming through as we continue to see and hear about,
like, when we were talking about this in the spring with baseball.

The church does allow us to use that lot for free.
And we asked, there's lots of really rough shape, though.
Matt got some pricing for paving it.
So we did discuss that.
So we had that to see, that's in the CIP for us to discuss later.
Talk about water treatment because the treatment,
due to the P-FAS levels, we have the new water treatment here
at these two buildings, and so that will involve water softener,
And that's going to be doing, that's done this fall.
There's a septic tank, septic project listed on the CIP.
That is the old septic tank that's behind the building over there.
The concrete deteriorating, they think it's original to this building,
we need to be replaced.
It's not part of the new system, so this building is on two different septic systems.
We have the new part of the building is on the new septic
and the old part of the new septic.
And the old part of the building, old septic that needs to be replaced.
That's out like behind the nurse's office.
to the nurse's office and they can build, dig into the side of the hill to replace that.
So that would be done next summer.
IRS parking lot is listed on there as well.
So that's one of them.
All day, we were looking for new auditors for changing that.
Budget, but maybe starts September 15th.
So that's the next Monday.
We also discussed that possibly putting in for speed feedback signs
for the areas outside of the high school to reduce speeds.

They are very short-staffed.
Anton communities very well, and he does what is needed.
They have cut back on staffing a lot, so if someone calls that, it's really tough.
But that does not go up to bid until 2029, I believe for that,

I'm here on behalf of the Royal's Athletic Hoosters.
For those of you who may not know, we have been around since 2018.
So we founded by a group of parents who saw that there was a need to kind of get together and try
to find ways to receive grant funds and other things in order to help less than
lessen and decrease the burden on both parents, families, players, and the school district
in supporting different athletic ventures.
So we have been, we've been an IRS compliant nonprofit since then, also with the state.
And since, just, just a case you wonder, since we started in 2018,
we have, we've awarded, actually paid out because we've,
actually paid out because we had another $6,500 in scholarships just to the class of 2026,
which will add to about $20,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors that we've already
awarded to help postgraduate education for students in the district.
We have donated either directly in financial support to the district or by purchasing
and then donating the equipment to the district over $45,000 in various projects.
Most notably, the pole vault equipment apparatus, the high jump hit, a number of poles or pole vault vaulting,
because apparently you, they're like, there's such a range of them.
Anyway, I learned way more about them than I ever wanted.
Be wrestling that.
that, the doctor-of-dish shooting machine that the basketball teams use, and so on,
and many smaller things, such as safety equipment and uniform components that were needed at the last minute
or were not available for the school budget.
For example, when field hockey uniforms didn't come with the undershorts, things like that.
So, yeah, over $45,000 we've donated in equipment in that kind of gear.
We provide senior recognition signs and banners for every athlete on the teams that we support.
And that's been over $6,000. We've done that so that no family, no player goes unnoticed.
And we started this, especially during COVID, before Mascoma A&E Club was live streaming.
We brought in a company to live stream so that when the bleachers were empty,
our parents, families, and fans could still participate.
So on media coverage, we spent over $5,000 over those times.
So I take that up just so that you can see the types of things that we do on a very
small volunteer run, sort of budget, our largest components of revenue, our fundraising events,
including different things that we do seasonally and different events, such as the type of run.
The Kiho 5K was also underwent up.
We do a, we offer a regional youth soccer, Jamboree at Shaker every fall,
and a youth basketball tournament at the IRS and high school gyms in January.
And we also do independent grant writing and fundraising to help support that.
We have individual donors and members and members, and we also have all
business sponsors. And business sponsors is actually a smaller part of the pie than we would like to see.
And so one of the ways in which we've been encouraged to think about adding additional value is to
update the thank you sponsor banner.
There's one currently in your packet you'll see our letter of request and includes a photo
of the one that has been up in the high school gym for years.
and isn't outdated, we need to update that.
But that's the sort of thing that we're requesting your consideration under policy.
KHB advertising in schools because this would include
business, local business names and logos.
So we want to make sure that we have your permission to do so.
We'd like to replace the one in the high school gym and also the one in the IRS gym.
And then we'd also like to utilize the polls of the new score reports that are out on the softball, baseball,
baseball, field hockey, soccer field areas.
We are not requesting to do so on the football scoreboard.
I forgot to mention that we cover basically all sports,
except for ones that already have existing booster support.
So we don't double up on those because we don't
have any Title IX violations for too much support for some sports.
So football has its own boosters.
We support boosters by putting in an ad in their program.
program every year.
volleyball has their own boosters.
They haven't asked us to help with anything,
but we celebrate their success.
And the ice hockey club,
we had been a pass-through for some of those fees
that we paid this Lebanon school district
for the ice time on behalf of the basketball students.
The Lebanon ice hockey boosters now
run that intermediary process.
We've also had under our umbrella,
under our umbrella, the different clubs such as the equestrian clubs
so that it didn't have to be something
that the school district had to handle.
And we have done that.
So, yeah, so we would love your support
and being able to put that banner off.
We'll also include our in-kind and community partners
on that banner, which will include Mescoma A.B.
So that would be one of the logos that would be on there.
Messman Youth Sports League and Friends of Vascona
would also be partner.
of that as well as our business sponsors.
So this just gives us an additional way to recognize the local community businesses
that, you know, are really making a difference for the kids in our district.

Yeah, having something that's like a vinyl, it's not going to be an expensive thing.
We're not looking to make, like, you know, the, you know, some, some places have, like, a place to kind of
permanently display. You might get a metal sort of more permanent sort of thing.
We're looking for vinyl ones that we would update annually.
That's good.
And then that way a business would be like, oh, I want to get my name on there next year.
And there's room for me.
What was the last time the one in the gym was updated?

to a local community, and it's supportive of everybody in communities.

Newport Chevy is on there because at the time one of the father was the GM there.
So like, local-ish, but not probably, like.

and some other ones I can't quite see.

what we would do is, you know, we'd love to be able to have your
okay tonight so that we can go ahead and move into production
and hopefully get the outdoor banners installed in time of homecoming.
So that's like a time where there's a lot of people on campus.
And then, and we would take photos of the banders
of the banners once they're installed.
We, of course put it on our website and social media,
and then we would share that with all of our sponsors,
and encourage them to also re-share that or post on their own.

Are you guys going to take them down in the winter,
like after the fall sports are done, take it down and then put it up?
Do you think it'll stay okay?

I think, I mean, we said weather appropriate, so, like, they have little wind things in them.
