Meredith Village Pathways Meeting (minutes)
Janis Roberts moved to approve amended June 9, 2026 minutes; John MacKinnon seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. Financial reports show Hawkins Brook Bank at $32,764.27 and Pathways at $947.51. Andrea Bourn announced a $100-per-person "Taste of the Trail" fundraiser on August 26th for engineering costs and a Grouse Point meeting on August 31st. John MacKinnon will expedite installing the Bump-out Pergola before winter. Andy, Liz, and Cheryl will install new tags and signs; John will replace a missing bench sign and assist with staked signs. The library box books need replenishing. Liz and Cheryl will consult Nancy Lavigne about adding drought-tolerant plants like Black-Eyed Susans. Krystal noted Parks and Rec is evaluating Star Link as a potential camera alternative to Bob Knoll’s battery-powered trail camera. The next meeting is September 8, 2026, at 9:00 AM. Meredith Village Pathways Committee Town Hall Annex 5 Highland Street Meredith, NH 03253 August 11, 2026 Attendees: Andrea Bourn, Cheryl Wilson, John MacKinnon, Janis Roberts, Janie Bowie, Liz Lapham and Krystal Alpers. Cheryl brought the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. • Minutes: Janis Roberts moved to approve the amended minutes of June 9th, 2026, and John MacKinnon seconded. Motion passed unanimously. • Old Business: Financial Report: Hawkins Brook Bank Acct. $32,764.27 and Pathways Acct. $947.51. WOW Trail Update by Andrea Bourn. There will be a fund raiser at Hermit Woods Winery with a Piano, slide show and food at $100.00 per person on August 26th called Taste of the Trail to raise funds for engineering. A meeting with Grouse Point will be on August 31st. Andrea downloaded the results from the Eco-counters and produced the monthly reports for the eco-counter. There was a little discussion of the late hours use and if we needed to report anything differently. There is a need to replenish books in the library box in the classroom. John MacKinnon is looking at getting the Bump-out Pergola over the bench on the walkway moving so that we can get it installed before the winter. Liz brought up the redwing Blackbird seasonal migration had taken place already. Andy has the new tags and signs and will work with Liz and Cheryl to get them installed on the trail. John will put the missing sign on the bench and help with the staked signs, • New Business: Liz and Cheryl think more plants are needed in the garden area and the only things doing well are the Black-Eyed Susan's. They will check with Nancy Lavigne to see if more of those plants would be better. The garden is quite dry so possibly drought- tolerant plants would be practical. John MacKinnon mentioned that Bob Knoll has a trail camera that might be useful. Krystal mentioned that the Parks and Rec Department are looking at Star Link as a possibility camera option rather than the trail camera which is battery powered.
