August 18, 2026 Meeting Minutes- Unapproved 
Chair Judi called the meeting to order at 7:05pm, followed by the Pledge of 
Allegiance. 
Present: Judi Lindsey Chair, Carol Howe, Ron Laverdure, Ryan Young, Admin. 
Assist. Janet Lewis 
Absent: Leon Austin, Tom DiMaggio, Gary Bashline 
Regular Business:  
1. Minutes of June meeting –Ron made a motion to accept the minutes of the 
meeting. Carol seconded. Ryan abstained. All in agreement. Motion passed. 
2. Wetland Permit Applications – nothing at present 
3. Land Use/Wetlands/Enforcement Issues – The Lamprey River Advisory 
Council correspondence to the State of NH Dept. Division of Pesticide 
Control regarding pesticide application within the rights-of-way to control 
invasive species and poison ivy along quarter mile corridors of 6 rivers in 14 
towns. Minimal spot treatment was suggested and none to be used on the 
Piscassic River in Newfields and Newmarket. This is a source of drinking 
water. 
4.  Correspondence –from the Rockingham Conservation District regarding the 
Sanborn Conservation Easement yearly monitoring. One boundary marker 
missing. No major issues were found. 
5. Budget Update/ Increase & Approvals – Judi signed Janet’s time sheet for 
submittal. Ryan presented next year’s budget. There are no major changes, 
there will be a COLA to be determined and the education budget of $875.00  
reduced to $800.00. At the end of the year, any money left over is transferred 
to the Conservation Fund. Professional memberships-NHCC and Bear-Paw 
dues are $260. and $100. respectively. 

6. Conservation Easements/Water Resources –nothing to report 
7. Forest Management – Ron reported that algae on the bridge at the D. Lewis 
Forest is a dangerous situation, especially with the two ramps on either end. 
He and Jim Franklin procured rubber mats to put on the ramps and had 
enough for one ramp. Jim is going to donate some more rubber mats. The top 
of the bridge still needs to be addressed. Jim is working on the survey of the 
D. Lewis Town Forest. On the Flint Road Town Forest, Corbyn and his team 
are marking the perimeter and working on the trails. The blue trail will be 
moved away from the boundary. Ron brought up the issue with Mr. Socha 
ordering Mr. Frazier off his land. Although he was only fishing on the shore 
of the Town-owned land. Ron suggested having the town attorney provide any 
rules in a situation like this.  Judi will bring it to the Selectmen and the town 
lawyer for advice.  
Old Business: 
1. GIS mapping – Ron reported the Board of Selectmen are getting the town 
maps aligned. (Geographic Information System) 
2. Fund Grant applications – nothing to report. 
3. Calendars Update –Raffle tickets are for sale for the carved bear raffle. More 
will be sold at Old Home Day on Aug. 22. Chrystina Moran is working on 
sponsorship forms as well as sign-ups for the table at OHD. We will also need 
to ask businesses to advertise on the calendars. She said she could set up the 
QR code and Venmo transactions. She would need the routing number and the 
account number to do those. Ryan will find those from Tamera. Also, having a 
donation jar at the table that Janet will provide. 
Other Business:       
1. Old Home Day- Is on August 22rd at Moore Park 11-2. Leon has donated for a 
carved bear for the raffle, with the proceeds for Barry Conservation Camp. 
2. Barry Camp update – the camper from this summer will be coming to tell us 
about their experience at Barry Conservation Camp. 
3. Scheduled hikes/trail work – in the fall 
Motion made to adjourn by Carol. Seconded by Ron. All in agreement. Motion 
passed. Meeting closed at 8:15 pm.
