The Selectboard approved new building permit fees, setting rates at $0.30 per square foot for new dwellings, commercial space, and ADUs; $0.20 for garages and sheds; and $0.10 for decks and patios. Flat fees include $30 for solar panels, retaining walls, cement pads, and inground pools. Charges of $0 apply for carports, pergolas, and woodsheds. Sam Lamphier is preparing technical notes for FEMA review, to be forwarded by Michelle Pong after Selectboard approval. Regarding the Shedd Hill project, the board requested a comprehensive quote for all wood and railing replacements, as the current quote was incomplete. Dean Dorman will present options for the library Gazebo roof to the trustees. A legal matter was discussed in non-public session, with the board voting unanimously not to seal those minutes. SELECTMEN’S MEETING MINUTES August 31st, 2026 Attendees: Selectboard Terri LaRoche, Dean Dorman, Jason Kovarik; Town Administrator, Michelle Pong, Compliance Officer, Harry Power; Town Clerk/Tax Collector Nancy McNeal; Residents: Joe Traniello, Franz Haase; Pix and Ray Durand, Sam Lamphier. Meeting called to order at 6pm. Nancy discussed the work for elections, tax collecting and installing the new Tax program. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO BE SIGNED/APPROVED AR and/or AP and/or PR Manifest - Signed Minutes 8/5 – Minor Corrections Letter to Town Clerk/Tax Collector - Signed MDS Letter - Signed Paving Quote (approved at 8/24 meeting) - Signed PUBLIC COMMENT OLD BUSINESS FEMA Letter Approval – Sam Lamphier discussed changes to the technical notes he is preparing for FEMA review. The board asked Michelle to get a quote for everything to be replaced. Terri moved and Jason seconded to come back into the public session. Unanimous. Re-entered public session at 9:07 pm. Terri moved and Jason Seconded NOT to seal the minutes (see above for non-public minutes). The Gazebo roof at the library was discussed. Dean will bring the options to the trustees for their opinion.
