Attendance allowed Bruce Soltys via Zoom by a unanimous 9-0 vote after he moved for permission. April 14th minutes were approved as amended by majority with Karen Denzler and Leslie Frank abstaining. The Town budget is expended 45% overall, while Investigations is at 530%, with police handling 1,160 calls year-to-date. The School District reported a June 30, 2026 final report, noting no decision yet on the $120,000 for an extra teacher; they intend to retain $350,000 to reduce tax impact. Burt Riendeau inquired about Soccer Field expenditures. Chesterfield Fire & Rescue reported 248 calls to date. The Committee scheduled the next meeting for September 15th and declined to meet on December 22nd. The meeting adjourned at 7:58 PM by unanimous vote. TOWN OF CHESTERFIELD BUDGET COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES JULY 7, 2026 Present: Alex Winn, Chairman; Judy Idelkope, Vice Chair; Brad Roscoe, Selectboard Representative; Leslie Frank, Rick Cooper, Chesterfield Fire & Rescue Precinct Representative; Burt Riendeau, Sam Kent, Karen Denzler, Sandra Jaskolski and Bruce Soltys, School Board Representative. Absent: Spofford Fire Precinct Representative, John Schriever and Bob Sutherland The meeting was called to order at 7:04 PM Rick moved to allow Bruce to attend via Zoom. The motion was seconded by Brad. Bruce is away on business and is alone. Karen, Brad, Sandra, Judy, Leslie, Rick, Burt, Sam and Alex voted Yes. The motion passed unanimously. Minutes – Rick moved the April 14th minutes for discussion. The motion was seconded by Burt. Judy moved to approve the April 14th minutes as amended. The motion was seconded by Rick. Karen and Leslie abstained. Brad, Sandra, Judy, Rick, Burt, Sam, Bruce and Alex voted Yes. The motion passed by majority. Town – The budget is expended 45% overall. Investigations is at 530% and it was asked what has been purchased for police equipment. Police have had 1160 calls to date. 2,288 for last year. School- This is the final report for June 30, 2026. It has not yet been approved by the school board. There has not been a decision made yet on the $120,000 that was approved at School Meeting for the extra teacher. They intend to retain the $350,000 to reduce the impact to taxes. Burt asked where the funding for the Soccer Field was expended. Chesterfield Fire & Rescue Precinct – 248 calls to date 319 calls last year. There has been a variety of calls, medical, fires and mutual aid. Schedule – The next meeting will be September 15th. The Committee did not want to meet on December 22nd. Adjournment – Rick moved to adjourn at 7:58 PM. The motion was seconded by Leslie.
