Commissioners Meeting 06-08-2026
Commissioners elected Richard Cross Chairman for the upcoming year; the motion passed. A water connection permit for Colby Sawyer College was approved as a change in use with no fee required. The board noted a Workers Compensation Premium reduction of $323.00 from Primex. Accounts payable, payroll, and salary increase documents were reviewed and signed. The May 4, 2026, meeting minutes were approved by a 3-0 vote. The 2026 year-to-date income and expenditure report was reviewed. Regarding the lightning damage to the water tank system, the next step is to gather approximate dates and a damage report to submit the claim to Primex Insurance. For the Part Time Summer Position, the Commissioners decided that earned time should accrue, specifically three 8-hour sick days and two 8-hour personal days. NEW LONDON-SPRINGFIELD WATER SYSTEM PRECINCT Commissioners Monthly Meeting June 8, 2026 PRESENT: Richard Cross (Chairman), Kenneth Jacques (Commissioner), Peter Hoglund (Commissioner), Rob Thorp, (Superintendent), and Maggi Winn (Office Administrator). OTHERS PRESENT: Bebe Casey, John Ellis. Date & Time: June 8, 2026, 4pm Chairman Cross opened the meeting at 4:03PM • Election of Chairman: Commissioner Hoglund made a motion that Chairman Richard Cross continue to fill the Chairman position for the upcoming year, Motion seconded by Commissioner Jacques, Motion Passed. • Water connection permit Colby Sawyer College: This was reviewed and approved as a change in use not a new connection, NO fee required. • Correspondence from John Mackenna: Thank you card read out loud at the meeting. • Correspondence from Primex reference to reduction in Workers Compensation Premium $323.00: Reviewed • Accounts payable & payroll: Reviewed and signed. • 05/4/2026 Meeting minutes: Commissioner Jacques motioned to approve the meeting minutes. Chairman Cross seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0. • Income and expenditure report for 2026 to date: Reviewed. • Salary increase documents for personnel files: Reviewed and Signed • Superintendent’s Report: Reviewed. Follow up on the claim be submitted to Primex Insurance for lightning damage to the alarm/communication system at the water tank. We will need to get approximate dates and Damage report, for submission. Clarification on the Part Time Summer Position accruing earned time: The Commissioners advised because this is a 40 hour a week summer position, they felt that some earned time should be accrued, this would be 3 8-hour sick days and 2 8-hour personal days.
