8-24-2026 Emergency Meeting – Selectmen’s Minutes
The Board Edie will file a claim with Primex regarding the Bergeron Appeal of the Selectmen’s decision. The Board agreed unanimously not to offer discussion at the Public Hearing on Tuesday evening, instead requesting the matter be taken under advisement and continued to a future date to allow for legal consultation. Regarding the new weathervane, Brenna Kucinski informed the Board that M. Tarr declined the project. The Board will continue discussion with T. McEachern for carving. Brenna will contact Marc Stretch for information about the whale/fish design on the current weathervane. Michael Blaudschun moved to adjourn, seconded by Brenna Kucinski; the motion carried 3-0. The meeting adjourned at 4:10 PM. The next regular meeting is scheduled for August 25, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the Nelson Town Office. Brenna called the August 24, 2026 Emergency meeting of the Nelson Select Board to order at
3:00 PM.
⚫ Discussion opened regarding the Bergeron Appeal of the Selectmen’s decision.
⚫ The Board remains concerned that the “bump out” addition is the greater violation.
⚫ Edie will file a claim with Primex regarding this appeal.
⚫ All agreed not to offer any discussion at the Public Hearing on Tuesday evening, except to
request the matter be taken under advisement and continued to a future date to give the
Select Board and ZBA time for legal consultation.
⚫ Before closing, Brenna informed the Board that M. Tarr would rather not make the new
weathervane. The Board will continue discussion with T. McEachern to do the carving.
Brenna will call Marc Stretch for more information about the whale/fish as he carved the
current weathervane many years ago and may have more information about its origin and
significance.
⚫ With nothing further, Mike made a motion to adjourn.
Brenna seconded.
The motion carried 3-0.
