July 22, 2026 meeting
Jeff Nute reported NHDES wetland delineation permits for the Gale Chandler Rd. culvert are finalized, with permits expected by fall; he recommended using UV lining. Concrete erosion on the Gale Chandler Rd. bridge uphill abutment requires repair. Ammonoosuc Asphalt will pave Gale Chandler Rd. and two Mill Brook Rd. sections. Nute will rent an excavator for a month to work on Mill Brook, Pearl Lake, and Foster Hill Roads. The Lyman Highway Dept. was approved to borrow mats for street repairs. Regarding Driveway Permit Applications, the Select Board agreed with the Planning Board that a second application for a separate driveway is required, which will be denied, allowing the resident to appeal to the Board of Adjustment. The Select Board agreed to draft a standard denial letter for these cases. The July 8, 2026 minutes were approved. The May 2026 Treasurer’s report was approved. A letter will be sent to the owner of 95 Chandler Pond Rd. regarding a new RV permit application. Rachael Booth will investigate updating the Town Hall laptop for the Supervisors of the Checklist. Jeff advised that he had a couple of items he wanted to discuss with the Board. Gale Chandler Rd. Culvert: Jeff reported that the NHDES wetland delineation permits are “good to go” and we should have the permits by the fall. He has been working with Verdantas, LLC (formerly Horizons Engineering). Jeff suggested the Town use the UV lining of the pipe. Gale Chandler Rd. Bridge Abutment: Jeff advised that the concrete has eroded on the uphill abutment and will need repair. Ammonoosuc Asphalt will be hired to pave Gale Chandler Rd. and two sections of Mill Brook Rd. Mill Brook Rd, Pearl Lake Rd. and Foster Hill Rd.: Jeff will be renting the excavator for about a month and working on the above roads. Highway Dept. Garage: There is a section of rust on the roof of the highway garage. Jeff believes that this can be repaired and buy some time. Jeff advised that he has been contacted by the Lyman Highway Dept to borrow mats for some street repairs. Jeff stated that he will call Lyman and agree to their using the mats and make the appropriate arrangements. Jeff then excused himself and left the meeting. The Board then welcomed members of the Planning Board. Brenda explained that in response to a Driveway Permit Application, there was concer regarding approval for two driveways at any given property. It is the consensus of the Planning Board that a resident submit a second Driveway Permit Application for a separate and distinct driveway. This second application would be denied. Once this process happens, the resident can then proceed to present the case for the need of the second driveway before the Board of Adjustment for final determination. The Select Board agreed with this process and agreed to draft a denial letter to be used in these circumstances. A copy of said draft will be given to the Planning Board for review. The Planning Board thanked the Select Board and left the meeting. The minutes of the July 8, 2026 meeting were approved and signed. The Treasurer’s report was reviewed and approved for the month of May, 2026. Old Business: Harry stated that with regard to 95 Chandler Pond Rd. a letter will be sent informing the property owner of the new application for RV permit. New Business: Rachael advised that she was recently asked by Supervisors of the Checklist to assist in finding another computer that could be used for their purposes in reporting to the State. As of this date, they have been using a personal computer and that is no longer permissible. Rachael is looking into the laptop that is currently at the Town Hall to see if that can be updated and used for their purposes. There being no further business to come before the Board, Rachael made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Mary. The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Frances R.
