Selectmen Minutes 08-03-2023

Selectmen approved July's meeting minutes and signed vouchers. Alan Eastman will replace the missing Province Brook Road sign. NHDES provided storm repair forms for Alan. The board will inform Robert Katz that South Chatham Road repairs fall under Maine jurisdiction, not Chatham. An abatement form was signed to correct a motor vehicle expense error for Judy Bailey related to Rights of Survivorship. An intent to cut wood was approved for Nicholas Simon, while Rotten Rock Enterprize's intent is on hold per WMNF instruction. NHDES received subsurface disposal system applications for 2214 Main Road and 64 Province Brook Road. Mountain Mentors must submit an A-12 form and financial reports for tax-exempt approval. Julie Hoyt resigned from the planning board; Tricia Pitman assumed minute upload duties and Jason Eastman will discuss website posting with Patrick. The town spent $57,793.72 on May storm repairs, with FEMA funds expected for remaining culvert replacements. Alan will review joining a road agent mutual aid organization. Minutes to July's meeting accepted as written.
Vouchers were signed.
The Selectmen were notified that the road sign for Province Brook Road is missing. Alan
Eastman will replace it.
NHDES sent information on emergency repair form to fill out for the May storm. The information
was given to Alan.
Robert Katz reached out to the Selectmen via email. He wanted to know why the road know as
South Chatham Road has not been repaired. The road in question is actually in Maine. The
Selectmen will reach out to Mr. Katz and inform him that this is why the town of Chatham has
not made repairs to the road.
The Selectmen signed an abatement form for motor vehicle expenses that should not have
been charged to Judy Bailey. There was an error made. She should not have owed anything
due to Rights of Survivorship.

NHDES received applications for a subsurface disposal system at2214 Main Road and 64
Province Brook Road.
The town needs the A-12 form and financial reports to be filed with the town prior to the
Mountain Mentors application to be tax exempt can be approved.
The town received a municipal roadway soils factsheet from DES
The intent to cut wood for Rotten Rock Enterprize is on hold, the WMNF insisted that they hold
off.
Julie Hoyt has resigned from the planning board. I will take over the responsibility of uploading
the minutes to the Selectmen's meetings. Jason willtalk with Patrick about putting the minutes
on the website to see if the website is ready again.
FEMA money for the May Storm may come to Carroll County soon. The town has spent
$57,793.72 so far. There are still some culverts that need to be replaced.
The town received information about an opportunity to join an organization for mutual aide for
road agents. Alan will look it over and get back to the Selectmen.
