hello everyone this is select board
member lin suite the town of stratford
master plan was last updated in 2002
in the last 20 years the world has
changed our town has grown we
communicate differently things seem to
move faster but still some things remain
the same
we still love our families we still love
our land and we still love our homes
the pillars which made so many of us
choose trafford to be our home such as
the rural character safety and the sense
of community remain in place steadfast
and strong
a master plan exists to tell a story
about how a community came to be how it
exists now and to lay out the vision for
what it would like to be in the future
we are reaching out to all the residents
to ask for their participation in
developing this new document which will
help guide the overall character
physical form growth and development of
stratford in the coming years
within the coming weeks a brief survey
will be posted on the town's website we
hope to hear from and collaborate with
all in as many residents as possible
while developing this plan
i ask that you take the time to fill out
the survey when you see it
we'd like to clarify a few questions
we've heard asked about the master plan
is the master plan permanent can it be
changed
the master plan is not a static document
that cannot be changed instead think of
it as a dynamic living document which
can be edited as needs and desires of
the town change with the times
does the town have to follow the
guidelines exactly as they are written
in the master plan
the master plan is exactly that
guidelines which do not need to be
followed exactly and nothing written in
the master plan is enforceable
regulation
though the plan may suggest new
ordinances proposals and goals
ultimately the citizens would have to
vote to adopt them
who writes the master plan
all the residents of stratford are
encouraged to participate in developing
the text of the master plan the plan
exists as an avenue to let citizens
direct the future growth and direction
of the town

previous master plan
on the town of stratford's website the
master plan has its own page under the
boards and commissions tab in the top
menu
the master plan is a valuable community
developed steering tool for the select
board to use as a guide to make sure our
decisions reflect your wishes and
visions for stratford

from august 24th to september 30th
online at the town of stratford website
which is stratford.nh.gov
there will also be a paper version of
the survey available
at the town hall and the library an
in-person
informational forum will be taking place
in november
where the entire community is invited
