The Board discussed compensation for camera operators when meetings are canceled with short notice. It was unanimously agreed to pay operators for two hours if a meeting is canceled with less than 48 hours' notice. The procedure requires the chair or vice chair of the canceling committee to provide the notification. Regarding purchases, SPEAKER_6 proposed buying a rock screener for approximately 6,300 dollars. SPEAKER_9 supported the purchase but raised a legal concern about using the equipment fund for it. SPEAKER_6 agreed to clarify the funding source. Nancy Stafford, representing the Old Meeting House Association, welcomed the Board and noted that a major renovation project was completed by the end of 2025. You're good. June 29, 2026, I'd like to have the first responders in our military. The United States of America and two republic of which stands, one nation under God, and indivisible, with liberty and justice for all the odd. We've had a fair number of meetings that have been canceled in the last year, whether it's conservation or budget or selectmen or planning board, and our camera operators, you know, we schedule a, for meetings weeks in advance, and they change their own personal schedules around to make sure that they're available those nights and stuff. And then when the meetings get canceled, they obviously get no income. We have a rule that if the meeting is canceled and they've shown up for it, you know, already left their house and stuff, we pay them. But if it gets canceled that day or the day before, they get nothing. And the cable committee was wondering whether it might be okay with the selectmen. If the meeting gets canceled, you know, with less than a week's notice or something, then maybe we pay them for an hour just so that they get something as payment because they, you know, put aside the night, you know, didn't get together with their friends or something. So if the selectmen could consider that, I'd appreciate it. I would agree with that very. I would also say that maybe how about the two hours with a 48-hour note 48-hour notice. In other words, if they don't give them 48-hour notice, is that reasonable? That's reasonable. And then the 2-0. Then procedurally, who would get the notice? Typically, I get the notice, you know, but it comes usually, oh, we don't have a quorum for tonight's meeting, so. At that point, I would still say. The camera operators should not be penalized due to any committees, in which, in my opinion, you know, their outcome. So if that's the case, I would like to see the camera operator properly compensated for their time. I'm not being there. And I do agree with that with that. I mean, that it's just... Do we agree on two hours, four, two hours pay, 48 hours notice? That's my proposal. The chair or vice chair of the committee or commission canceling has to get a whole scenario. Yeah. And they're good about letting me know. It's just, it comes late. And I, you know, you know, I, you know, I let the committee. camera operators know, but I feel bad for them, you know, that, you know, missing one hour's paid for me, you know, I'm fine. I just wanted to be here tonight on behalf of the Old Meeting House Association and welcome you to this beautiful building. And last year when you were here, we were in the middle of doing our big project that, you know, we completed by the end of 20 years. the end of 2025. So we're just really excited and happy that you guys do this every year. We had our annual old meeting house association meeting a couple weeks ago. We have it every June. And the main purpose of the meeting is for us to go through, take a look at the building, see what needs to be happening in terms of any improvement. And this year was, like, so great. to just kind of just be looking at our projects way in the future, nothing immediate. Because so many, all the big things were able. The first. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So finally we would like to purchase a team. the screener or Rock Ridley is just a stand-alone that's positive to get the dirt over and get the big rocks out of it and make material. Like $6,300.
