but I think that we were not awarded anything
for the Fri and Pan Lane Fund,
which I was kind of hoping we would
so we could participate in the department
on their family field day,
but we'll still participate.
We just don't have a lot to contribute, unfortunately.

but I just don't know.

department and however they want,
and we'll just talk to him and see what
he needs for help. I know he's going to need
help with people standing at booths where the kids are playing and stuff just to keep an eye on things.
So, yeah, I'll get more information from him and find out what he wants, and we can all pitch in and help.

They're requesting a copy of who's using it
and how much and for what
and how long it's lasting,
you know, so I'm going to do, you know, maybe quarterly accounting of it to send to them.
So they're asking, so if you're doing something that takes money and you have a vest of people,
you just did give it to me.
Same thing with you, D, I just got them from me, so that's great.

The kids that did the posters, as you can see, if everyone's on Facebook,
if Carla Donatelli's two kids did all those flies and they really did a beautiful job.
Just so nice, I actually would like to find out if you, Kara, were able to reach out to anybody
about maybe having somebody volunteer on our committee to do flies and things like that.
I did. Remember we had all we have to put to that, which I did one, one, one
notification of

because we're not
training the kids how to do it,
we're not really getting an internship.
Volunteer hours.
And so every day,
when it kind of puts out a daily memo
and there's a volunteerism section
where people can say,
hey, here's a volunteer opportunity,
and kids who are looking for hours,
just contact, where the contact is.
So I did put the contacts,
I think that was sent out daily
over the top of the day.

I haven't gotten anybody, and now, of course,
schools out, yeah.
High school every Friday,
so the kids aren't going to get those daily summer announcements
anymore.
So I don't expect that we would hear from anybody over the summer.

So Blue Batch is all set.
Tree Lighting.
We met with the tree lighting.
There actually is a tree lighting committee set up, and we met with them, and everything looks really good.
We're trying to still find anyone who wants to volunteer to donate a tree, which is $750 to donate a tree.
Like, if you have a street with a bunch of people that are friends that all want to pitch in and do, like, a street name,
or if anyone knows anyone that might want to,
donate a tree.
It's for to put the lights up in the trees for the ceremonies,
for the tree lighting evening, the whole evening.
We are going to be hosting a gingerbread contest and the house decorating contest.
So Kara is going to take the lead on house decorating contest, right, Kara?
You're the best.
and DEDY's going to take the lead on the gingerbread house.
We'll all be there.
I was wondering what you guys thought about how we vote.
Do we just pick a winner, or should we do the boxes and let people fill them out and then count them and see how many?
It's going to be chilly out, so we'll be like freezing trying to pull them out.
But it would be, I don't know if it's fair because, like, one family,
with 10 kids could all vote for one you know I know I know I feel like the committee
can select the winners okay so five or six of us there's five of us within this
committee we can vote okay this is the bad how many people vote for this one how
many people were perfect you think back more people to the committee okay okay yeah the gingerbread
house contest people are going to bring in gingerbread house sitting on a table that can blow away
out cold hands blah blah okay perfect all right so that we discussed do we
want to do ornaments that we hand out again this year hopefully not as hard as they were last
year sorry the ones we did last year were very small very intricate they were too hard
I couldn't even do them I couldn't read them yeah so
so just guys keep you keep an open eye
for something that we can give the kids to do you know something they could
do at our table hopefully even if it's like a five second project Santa's candy
canes blah blah blah photographer so I'm still waiting to hear from the
the woman who did the photography last year she is potentially going to be
out of out of state for Christmas you know for that time period which
the photographer from last year for the tree lighting but I think it went pretty
well having a photographer there I think a lot of people enjoyed it because they just got
the picture email to them afterwards there's no like actual tangible pitches or
anything there was one problem one person didn't get their picture and it's because
they had messy handwriting when they wrote down their email address and nobody could
figure out what it said it was rectified with
a week and everything else went smooth so I'm gonna see about I'm gonna see I'm
gonna see I'm gonna call a couple people but I think the first person I'm gonna call
is Shelley Parish because she's a really good photographer but I don't
know if she'll do the email stuff you know what I mean maybe she I don't know if she's
got a way to do it she's gonna need some help like the other lady did that wrote down you
signed up for the
remember they put the number up in the bottom corner so they could know who it went
to so I'm gonna I'm gonna ask I'm gonna ask Shelley first because well I like Shelley so
she does she does and I'm gonna actually offer her the same stipend that I
offered last year's photographer which was two hundred dollars and we already
put in for it so I mean I I got to say at a minimum
a hundred kids did photos and it took her a minute to enter each email,
attach each photo, at a minimum that's going to be two hours of work.
Yeah, and that's not even her time while she's there taking the pictures.

So I think definitely...
But here's the problem.

So the problem is we didn't get a lot of any extra money this year, so we have to kind of play it
close to the best and $200 is what we paid the photographer last year.
We already voted and agreed that we would pay her again.
So if we can get Shelly or if Shelly can't, maybe somebody else.
I do know for a fact that Shelly actually is going to be at the event, but earlier,
she's going to be walking around in period closing with the historical society.
So I don't know if she's going to be walking around.
going to want to do that on top of her other stuff.
So I don't know.
But I'm going to ask her first, see what she says.
And then if she doesn't, if she can't do it, then we'll, I'll just try to find another photographer.

cemetery commissions telling us how to do everything to be not to ruin anything or whatever.
Did you do you put, because I have emailed the gentleman at the Rossi unit about coming
because there, there had been talked at some point about maybe we could get a color guard for it.
Keeping up the back to me, I sent a couple of emails, but I do remember who's a little bit difficult
to get in touch with when they came to do the, um, means across America for us, remember in the

But I heard one of the things at some point in the past week or two saying that the
Rothese kids were going to be there.
Do you know if that's asking?
I have no idea.

But we do have a theatrical group coming to do the salute.
And we also have free giveaways for people, and we're going to have some cookies and drinks and
stuff, so.
And that is on July 25th.

So we're also going to be looking for volunteers for that day, July 25th, to help out with logistics at the cemetery.
And it might just mean putting a flag on one of the graves because we're going to kind of do some
kind of a rededication of the markers and things.

You don't have to because I told her that too, and she's like,
we need some people just to pour water on it to clear off the sud.

that's the first left and then you go just kind of down the road and there's a little cemetery on the left and there's one on the right
all right all right chai gone at the library the dates are listed on your paper if anybody if you know anyone that you think might want to go just tell them
try to get word of mouth I'll I'll post it again yeah
actually but listen this is a free
things and if any it's outside in the field so if you show up and you don't sign up it's
that's not going to be a problem right but they just want to try to get an idea of who's
coming the FBI lunch though so we did the first FBI lunch June 4th it was a huge
success it were like 22 people showed up they had lunch I wanted to go and I told
all right well there's three more coming up July August and
they're that you do have to sign up for if you want a lunch because they're
using the sign up to figure out how many lunches to buy so who's putting this on is
this the FBI oh nice okay the FBI is coming out and doing it and I believe
the the police department Vino chief Vino is he's found some money to do the lunch
pay for the lunches yeah okay so the next one's
July 16th yes we also have an ice cream social okay I can keep up with
all the a half and I know I'm jumping around too I've tried to speak a lot of
our notes but I sent a email oh okay um so the FBI luncheon we are also doing a an ice cream
social we voted on that we're paying for that and that's going to be at the
farmers market and it's for seniors in town all the seniors can come down and get a free
ice cream sunday are they getting some sort of ticket to show or something when they
come up um I'm not sure how she's doing it I mean I guess just show up August 5th and it's
in a certain time frame and I want to say it's like four to maybe three to five
it'll be it'll be all over Facebook and we'll be promoting it more I
just wanted to give you guys a heads up the other thing is the library is having the
annual book sale September 19th the past couple of years we've gone we've had a
table talk to people about rec commission hopefully we can try to recruit some people
maybe give out our cards what is this September 19th I said yeah we'll have our
cards by then see we can give them out to people too
you know the activities for the year yes we did that last year yes we did that last
year and we had key streets people made stuff yes yep they had a bake sale there it was
fine okay that's just the update on all the old business new business is we do have a
potential new person that wants to join the right that potentially wants to join the
rec commission and I will talk to the town administrator and try to get in touch with
her and invite her to our next meeting
so we can meet her fabulous wonderful maybe you can ask her to come in
next meeting and introduce herself and like I don't I don't think that we have to
vote on any potential new members because I believe the selectmen are the ones who
have to approve it and I think as long as we say yep sign them up then the
selectmen will probably approve it but it would be nice to meet them and say hi and have
sitting on a meeting and see what's going on and that's all I have does
anybody else have any new business or I want to discuss any old business yes of
course some events we've done that's a bit kind of like self-pocket right and
then we have the money from the town which is part of the town's taxpayers money and
each commission gets a bit of that or whatever right and then we've had on a few occasions
the access to money from the prime prime family fund the choice for patriotic
things from the whole community this is going to be involved which is been awesome yeah so for
that for the business year of 2026 we do not have frying can lane money and we have our
revolving fund yes and we're using when we do some events that's where our money
yep I'm going to be winding that down a little bit
I think the idea is that we wind it down a little bit and then next year
so we're going to have to be a little bit better at figuring out for the year what we want to spend money on
and then present that in January or February or whatever they do the town meeting
so we can give them an idea of what we want to use the money that we want them
to give us for yes now Gisela did that a couple years ago and that's why we got funds
but we didn't do it this year because we just didn't know what we were going to do yet right
so we just probably have to be a little more proactive this year and actually have a meeting
and go over it together and try to figure out what we're going to do even if it's a throw
it at the wall and see if it sticks kind of thing but we should try to map out the year
and what we want to try to make happen and how much that's going to cost and I think
that's that's one of the problems I think why we didn't get anything because they I
think that the selectmen are looking at our funds and saying you have $24,000 you
know what I mean but the problem is some of that is some of that is coveted because we have
summer school and we have to cover summer school
so we can't touch like maybe 14,000 of that because we have to pay the teachers
and and before we you know and sometimes do we have numbers from last year for what the
summer school was do we know I don't know I do have it we do have it you have it actually in
all that paperwork I gave you if you go back and look you can see the deposits but you might
not know that summer school but if you see like a thousand dollar deposits that's a summer school
all right
yeah we have it okay so yeah we'll have a meeting in like the end of the year maybe and
I don't know maybe after January when things settled I mean after December when things settled down
and we can probably meet have a special meeting some night off the books try to go through
everything we want to try to accomplish the next year and and and try to figure out put a cost to
it and then we have something to go to the selectmen with and say
hey we want to do these things it involves everybody everyone's welcome to join in
you know give them like a presentation of what we want to use it for but I think by not
telling them and just saying hey we want $4,000 you know what I mean for what yeah yeah
they probably was saying for what much this year as far as like you've done the paint
nights in the yes we haven't done much this year I mean not for nothing though our committee
dwindled down to us I know right we
had a pretty robust committee before but now it's kind of just out bare bones for the most part
most of us you know the bulk of us are working right and those who aren't are running grandkids
around you know what i mean so it's not like we all have a lot of time to put towards this you know what i
mean so hopefully we can recruit some new people get them in more involved
and and have people take leads on different things yeah okay so that's all I have
are there any more questions does anyone else want to add anything any ideas you want to do
something for the summer that's not on our list no not enough we do many people talk
about our July meeting in a minute but you really need to have a very firmed up and
robust list of events and processes for the flying
which is going to be probably printed towards the end of August beginning of
September to be mailed out mid-September and that's going to cover the events that are
going to go up through just the end of December December 31st so all of our
holiday events and all of that so miss Coolahara have your ideas together on the
gingerbread thing because if we have links or anything like that we may want to
have that ready for that flyer and then I'll have to have a lot
have the links and information ready for the lighting contest so just keep
that on your radar yeah we've been working on that we've been working on the
gingerbread contest thing I know much about it you know kind of came up
from the Christmas meeting when we were meeting with the tree lighting meeting
thing with the other department couple of the departments so it came up and
Dee Dee and I were both there and we said yeah we'll grab onto that and
it so that's why I'm telling you guys now we get third whatever
would be the third money would be the 20th yeah everyone's still good with

yeah but I do but I do want to put
the record we did not get any of the totals or the amounts for the finance
section of this paperwork we'll get that and we'll give it to Kara to put on the

that it's there so when the next meeting comes we can all say we read it and

send you a refreshed one as soon as we get the information we'll put it in oh August 4th is
