Swanzey Select Board Meeting September 16th, 2026
The Swanzey Select Board addressed administrative items on September 16, 2026. They agreed to remove completed agenda items, including the Finance Director hiring process, the Christian Hill Road bridge replacement project, and the wastewater treatment plant study, with SPEAKER_2 requesting Katie update the document. Highlights included an upcoming West Swanzey wastewater users meeting set for Saturday at 9:00 AM, which SPEAKER_1 noted Scott will chair. SPEAKER_4 confirmed bids for the bridge replacement are going out December 27th. Regarding correspondence, the Board received a first-time request from "Loved Thy Neighbor" food pantry for $2,500 in the upcoming fiscal year's budget. SPEAKER_2 stated this would be addressed during fall budget discussions, where the group may request to speak. It says current hold-up is due to division historical resources regarding historic mitigation. Oh, that should be off there, yeah. That should be taken off. And we do know that the bids are going out on December 27th of this year. I'll get Katie to change that. Thank you. So we took up an administrative update. You're good? Yeah, I think I went through everything that I have on the administrative update. And then we had the monthly reports among us. We could also take off the wastewater treatment plant study because basically it's indicating that it's already been done. Uh-huh. Okay. And we have the meeting Saturday morning for the West Wansi wastewater users that will address what the plans are. Could I again? Right. Saturday needs. Senator, we move with us. We'll tell them we take all that up. Yeah. I'll get her to take out those things that aren't relevant anymore. They'd like to request $2,500 to be placed in the upcoming fiscal year's budget to support the continuing operation of a loved-by-neighbor food park pantry. I'm not sure what we've done in the past with this kind of thing. This is their first. Their first ask. Their first ask, yeah. We would get into this during the point. budget. Yeah. So this is something we move to budget discussion, but we have to remember that we have it. How are we going to do that? Are you going to make a notation of this? No, I've been in communication with one of their people and explain that this would be part of the process going into the fall. So if they want it. Oh, they're going to come back to this. Good moment. And they would probably request an opportunity to speak to the board because of the fact that it's their first time. That'd be good. And I want to say something about, I love thy neighbor, because I help out there two Thursdays a month with unloading their truck. They do a really great job, and they serve a lot of people in Swansea. I also want to mention that.
