The Belmont Board of Selectmen addressed COSSAP grant funding. The NHDOJ provided an additional $7,453.86, extending funds through September 30, 2026. Chief Akerstrom stated that Officer Bryant will require funding through the PT line after this date. The board authorized applying for a potential 3-year renewal. Chairman Mooney moved to amend the FY22 COSSAP Grant from $433,992.12 to $441,445.98 with a new completion date of September 30, 2026, and to authorize Chief Akerstrom to sign the amended agreement. Selectman Pike seconded. The motion passed unanimously 3-0. Selectman Pike moved to adjourn at 8:40 am, seconded by Selectman Ciampi, and the motion passed 3-0. Mooney, Selectman Jon Pike, Selectman Sharon Ciampi, TA Alicia Jipson and Police Chief Steve Akerstrom. Absent: Selectman Travis O’Hara and Selectman Mark Lewandoski. COSSAP Grant Funding: Previously this grant was extended but we are now at the point that the additional funds will run out by the end of July. We asked the NHDO) if there were any more funds available now, and if there is an excess. They gave us an extra $7,453.86 which will be funded through September 30, Discussion was had about what will happen beyond September 30", and Chief responded that Officer Bryant will have to go to PT and be funded through the PT line in the budget. The NHDO)} is applying to extend the grant another 3 years, and the Town will also apply to the grant again for another 3-year period if granted. We do not know if that will be extended or not at this point in time. Chairman Mooney moved to amend the current FY22 COSSAP Grant from the NHDOJ from $433,992.12 to $441,445.98 with a completion date of September 30, 2026, and to give Police Chief Steve Akerstrom authority to sign the amended Grant Agreement and all other associated documents; seconded by Selectman Pike.
