John Ward was appointed Chair, Ron Lahout Vice Chair, and Katelyn Carpenter Secretary via unanimous confirmation. For Phase 1 pool reopening, Mike recommended a sand filter system up to $176,000. The sub-committee will define Phase 1 scope, prioritizing filter/pump installation with a target reopening date of June 12, 2027. Kelly Hadlock was unanimously confirmed to lead fundraising and grant efforts, working with Hannah from Friends of Remich. The sub-committee will establish a volunteer group and explore CTE/Building Trades student involvement. Action items include assigning responsibilities: Mr. Smith will check with Building Trades, Mr. Kelley and John Ward will contact contractors, and Hadlock will handle grants. The next Parks and Recreation Commission meeting is September 17th, followed by the Pool Subcommittee meeting on October 7th. LITTLETON PARKS & RECREATION POOL SUBCOMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Date: Wednesday, September 2, 2026 Time: 5:30 PM Location: Lakeway Cafeteria Littleton, New Hampshire 1. Call to Order – 5:30 pm 2. Appointment of Officers Heidi Huley nominated the following members for positions - Chair – John Ward - Vice Chair – Ron Lahout - Secretary-Katelyn Carpenter All were confirmed with no opposition. 3. New Business Phase 1 – Reopening the Pool - Mike – North Country Pool. Quote and work. Suggested range to be submitted for approval for sand filter system, up to $176k Filter/pump and ‘grinding down’ some cracks in the concrete and sealing. - Review and discussion of the Weston & Sampson Pool Assessment Report - Phase 1 priorities – Filter/pump first. Sub-committee will further define what is/should be included in ‘Phase I’ among those things: ADA Compliance -needs to be discussed - Timeline and goals for reopening the pool – ideal would be June 12th 2027 Phases 2 & 3 – Future Planning - Fundraising with Friends of Remich - John Ward – Pricing and cost estimates - Planning for future pool improvements – detailed suitability plan needed for responsibility parties, but also for grant/funds -Need plan for maintenance logs, where do those live? 4. Volunteers & School Involvement - Establish a volunteer group - Identify projects that can be completed by volunteers -John Ward, ‘list of people ready to go’ to contribute with their professional services - Painting and other volunteer services - - Discuss possible school and student involvement – CTE/Building Trades - Community participation and support - 5. Fundraising - Fundraising goals – not established yet - Friends of Remich – Is a 503c - Community fundraising opportunities-Kelly Hadlock to head-up/also to look into grants.
