The Hillsboro-Deering School Board held a retreat on August 17, 2026, from 5:17 PM to 6:57 PM. Kathryn McGinn, Krista Davison, Chris Bober, Lindsay Boyle, and Jessica Pollard attended with Superintendent Jennifer Crawford. No formal actions were taken during the discussion-only session. Members reviewed contact information, compiled self-assessment results compared to prior years, reviewed 2025 retreat minutes, and discussed board goals. The board brainstormed priorities for the 2026-2027 school year and FY2028 budget planning, including potential collaborations with Washington School District and SAU 24. Communication improvements were proposed, such as adding a school board section to the newsletter and mapping out board meetings for the year. Budget priority setting is scheduled for the September meeting. Krista Davison motioned to adjourn at 6:57 PM, seconded by Jessica Pollard, passing 5-0-0.
