The Hebron Library Trustees approved August minutes and the Treasurers Report, returning $124.35 to the town. New book orders were approved. Trustees unanimously accepted Martha Twombly’s donation of an Alan Esty painting. Community room policy changed: events must be free, supervised by staff, and held during library hours; regular line dancing classes were rejected. Parker Griffin discussion continues as timing is unresolved. An AED was installed with training on 9/14. The septic system was pumped. Museum pass costs included Squam Lake Science Center ($300/yr) and Wright Museum ($150). The October meeting was rescheduled to October 5 at 3:30 pm. Minutes - DRAFT Hebron Library Trustees Meeting September 9, 2026 In Attendance: Gerry Flynn, Debbie James, Suzanne Martin, Mark O’Connor, Kathy Tawa, Lynne O’Brien, Lianne Keary Call to Order 1:04 pm Agenda Adjustments – Under New Business, community space use and painting donation Approval of August Minutes – Minutes approved as submitted. Gerry Flynn moved to approve, Suzanne Martin seconded Librarians Report/Discussion/Operational update – Both foot traffic and circulation numbers continue to improve. Lianne is now tracking childrens collection borrowing. Those numbers have grown over the last few months as well. New book orders include at least 2 new childrens books as well as a large print in addition to adult collection titles. GF moved and SM seconded to approve as presented. Treasurers Report –Accepted as presented. $124.35 was returned to the town as unspent. DJ moved, SM second Manifests – SM moved and DJ seconded to approve as presented Old Business: Parker Griffin discussion update – The timing of future interest checks remains unanswered. DJ will be reaching out to Parker again. AED Update – The unit was installed. Linda Fisher from the Fire Department will conduct training 9/14 at 8:30AM. Septic Pump- The system was pumped and rocks placed as markers for future reference. Discounted passes – Lianne explored purchasing passes to a wide variety of museums within the state. Responding were: Squam Lake Science Center $300/yr, Wright Museum $150, Mt. Kearsarge $75. Not responding yet include NH Telephone Museum, Canterbury Shaker Village, Planetarium and many others BHVS Loaning books – Lianne has attempted to connect with the technology teacher who is also in charge of their library, to discuss fostering a connection between the school and library. New Business – External Audit – Auditors are gone and have thus far not made any additional requests. It was agreed that we should still pursue finding original trust documents. Time Sheet approval Monday 9/14- Suzanne not here o Note: Payroll 1st and 3rd Friday Finance 101 Workshop being offered by NHLTA Sept. 30 and Oct.7 Painting Donation – Trustees unanimously voted to accept Martha Twombly’s gift of a painting done by Alan Esty, a Hebron resident of historical significance. Community Room use – A line dancing class was a recent event. The teacher did not charge but “accepted donations” and wanted to do them every week! Extensive discussion ensued. All agreed do not want regular line dancing on our hardwood floors. Changes were made to overall policy: 1)A library employee must be there to supervise and Piggy backing off regular hours is required 2) NO form of payment allowed. Free and open to the public only. Evaluate on a case-by-case basis. October meeting date falls on Columbus Day and was rescheduled to Monday Oct. 5, 3:30. Lynne unable to attend.
