Library Trustees Meeting Agenda (minutes)
Trustees created dedicated accounts for officials and unanimously approved moving meetings to 6 pm on the second Thursday, starting October 8. Susan Chase will secure bank statements for December 2025 CDs. Wage analysis shows Michaela Hoover at 35 hours and Caitlyn at 15 weekly; trustees will determine additional staffing needed after survey results. The survey is open until October 1, distributed by Michaela. An author visit is set for late October or early November. Grants received include CLiF funding. WABL events require staffing for Trunk or Treat and a book sale on November 6 and 7, with cleaning assistance requested from town office staff. Trustees plan to invite two potential candidates to the October meeting and will install a permaculture book collection honoring Suzanne Paul. September 10 , 2026, Library Trustees Meeting Present: Janet Moore, Tina Nussbaum Wagler, Julie Matz, Susan Chase, Caroline Moulton Ratzki Michaela Hoover The trustees created new, dedicated ( trustee, chair, treasurer, secretary) email accounts. Janet Moore called the meeting to order at 7:18pm Susan Chase moved to accept minutes from last meeting, Tina Nussbaum Wagler seconded. All were in favor. Tina Nussbaum Wagler needs bank statements for all the library CDs for December 2025. Susan Chase will find and print them. Survey: Julie says it's ready to be sent out. Deadline for responses October 1. Michaela will put out survey by email and also paper copies at the library and the Hub. Janet asked Jessica Rand to run the figures for hours and wages. Michaela is 35 hours per week, Caitlyn is 15. Once survey results are in, trustees will discuss how many more hours are needed. Discussion about possibility of new trustee or trustees. Janet suggests inviting two potential new trustees to the October meeting. Janet Moore moved we change the meeting time to 6 pm, keeping the 2nd Thursday of the month, starting October 8, and have all meetings at APL going forward. The motion was unanimously approved. Michaela Hoover gave the library report. This year for messy fest she let the kids paint her car! Michaela reports heartfelt appreciation for the libraries, from kids and parents. 900 people visited the library in August. 81 kids completed summer reading for a total of 2044 hours and were celebrated ata ceremony at AEMS. Janet shared Les Fenton's thoughts on building out for more room. Michaela won't be here for trunk or treat, she'll need people to staff the event. Julie reminded us we need, as a board, to thank Suzanne Paul. Julie will bring card to next meeting. The library will start a small collection of permaculture books, with book plates in Suzanne's honor. We also need to get articles about the library into next issue of Beacon Valley News. Michaela reports a CLiF grant was received and put to good use. Author visit is slated for late October or early November. WABL no longer has someone to help clean. Michaela will ask the people who clean the town offices. November 6 and 7 will see a book sale at WABL. Basement at APL could use a professional organizer or volunteer to organize.
