Cemetery Trustees Meeting Agenda (minutes)

The meeting opened at 9am with Cheryl Swenson and Susan Huntoon present; Lea LaFaye was absent. July 20, 2026 minutes were reviewed and accepted. The committee discussed Cemetery Trust Funds with Cristy Reny-Perkins; Cheryl will follow up with Finance Director Elita Reed regarding withdrawing money for projects. Poulin trimmed the hedge at Proctor Cemetery. The committee will continue painting fences at Philbrick and Taunton Hill Cemeteries. They will walk Proctor and Old North Church Cemeteries to evaluate tree trimming needs, take pictures, and obtain quotes for work next year. A downed tree and brush were noted at Rollins Cemetery; Cheryl will contact Poulin for cleanup. Susan will notify Michaela that Rollins Cemetery is excluded from the tour due to poison ivy. The Old Center Cemetery gate requires repair. The committee discussed the 2027 budget, with figures due to the Budget Committee and Selectboard by October. THE MEETING OPENED AT 9AM. PRESENT WERE CHERYL SWENSON AND 
SUSAN HUNTOON. LEA LAFAYE WAS ABSENT AS SHE WAS ON VACATION. 
THE MINUTES FROM THE JULY 20TH 2026 WERE REVIEWED AND 
ACCEPTED. 
WE DISCUSSED WITH CRISTY RENY-PERKINS, FINANCE ASSISTANT 
ABOUT THE CEMETERY TRUST FUNDS. CHERYL WILL FOLLOW UP WITH 
ELITA REED FINANCE DIRECTOR ABOUT WITHDRAWING MONEY FROM 
THE TRUST FUNDS TO DO SOME CEMETERY PROJECTS. 
THE PROCTOR CEMETERY HEDGE HAS BEEN TRIMMED BY POULIN. 
WE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK ON THE PAINTING OF THE FENCES AT 
PHILBRICK AND TAUNTON HILL CEMETERIES. 
WE WILL WALK PROCTOR AND OLD NORTH CHURCH CEMETERIES TO 
EVALUATE WHICH TREES NEED TO BE TRIMMED/CUT. WE ALSO WILL TAKE 
PICTURES OF THE TREES. WE WILL GET QUOTES AND HOPEFULLY CAN 
HAVE THE WORK DONE NEXT YEAR. 
CHERYL AND LEA WALKED ROLLINS CEMETERY. THERE IS A TREE DOWN 
AND A LOT OF BRUSH AND ALSO POISON IVY. CHERYL WILL CONTACT 
POULIN ABOUT THE CLEANING IT UP. 
SUSAN WILL CONTACT MICHAELA AND TELL HER WE CANNOT HAVE 
ROLLINS CEMETERY ON OUR CEMETERY TOUR DUE TO POISON IVY. 
THE GATE AT OLD CENTER CEMETERY DOES NOT CLOSE SO NEEDS TO BE 
REPAIRED. 
WE DISCUSSED THE BUDGET FOR 2027. WE NEED TO HAVE OUR FIGURES 
TO THE BUDGET COMMITTEE AND THE SELECTBOARD BY OCTOBER. 
WE STILL CONTINUE TO WORK ON NATURAL BURIALS. WE NEED TO FIND 
A LOCATION AND ALSO WRITE OUR GUIDELINES FOR ANDOVER.  

THE CEMETERY TOUR IS OCTOBER 17TH FROM 10AM TO 1PM. WE WILL 
WORK ON GETTING INFORMATION TO MICHAELA. CHERYL SAID WE 
SHOULD ALSO INCLUDE A HANDOUT WITH INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO 
USE SEARH A GRAVESITE ON THE TOWN WEBSITE.

OUR NEXT MEETING IS SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 21ST AT 9AM.
