The Select Board reviewed the year-to-date budget, noting it is tracking well. They agreed to review the budget in fall 2026 to potentially replace handheld radios. Regarding Cruiser Maintenance line item #4210-19, Chief Rich Fortin reported unexpected costs and an immediate need for brake replacement. The Board noted a cruiser replacement will be required in 2027, with information collection starting fall 2026. The Board accepted a grant award for mobile data terminals; Chief Fortin selected two laptops with universal mounts, leaving open the possibility of a third. Following a resident request to lower the Reed Rd speed limit to 15mph, the Board decided to leave the speed limit unchanged. Chief Fortin noted vehicle volume and large trailers were a greater concern than speed. The meeting adjourned at 6:49pm following a 2-0 roll call vote (Kate Batcheller-aye, Rob Doyle-aye; Antje Skorupan-absent). Approved Minutes

Present: Select Board members Kate Batcheller, Rob Doyle; Admin Asst Jen Tenney; Chief Rich Fortin;
Road Agent Dave Morrison
Absent: Select Board member Antje Skorupan; Accountant Brenda Wiley

Called to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:10pm by Select Board Chair Kate Batcheller,
attendance was taken by roll call as reflected above.

• Reviewed YTD budget – overall everything is tracking well.
o Around fall of 2026, review YTD budget and consider replacing the hand-held radios if the
YTD budget supports it.
o Line item #4210-19 (Cruiser Maintenance) – There have been a lot of unexpected costs in
this line item. Chief reports another cruiser needs brakes replaced. Hours of runtime, not just
mileage, can increase wear and tear on a cruiser. Chief states a cruiser will need to be
replaced in 2027 and that he will begin collecting information and costs in the fall of 2026.
• Recent police activity, trainings and staffing updates were reviewed.
• The Town of Mason was awarded a grant for the mobile data terminals; congratulations! The
terminals will have universal mounts. Chief chose to get two laptops for now and will consider if a
third laptop is needed.
• The Select Board and Road Agent discussed a request from a resident to post Reed Rd as 15mph.
Chief feels volume and large vehicles (horse trailers) are more of a concern than the speed. It was
decided to leave the posted speed limit as is on Reed Rd.

Adjournment: There being no further business, Kate motioned to adjourn, second from Rob. Roll call
vote Kate-aye, Rob-aye, Antje-absent. Meeting adjourned at 6:49pm.

Respectfully Submitted,
